To allow women to become part a "Sistahood" where they guide each other, hold fulfilling careers and spend quality family time. They become empowered to reach for their dreams.
History
Valeska Dominguez worked as a graphic designer but when she shifted her
priorities to become a mother, she knew that a traditional job would no longer
be possible. While on her journey to find the right combination between family
and career, she suffered from severe Post Natal Depression. She vowed that when
she felt better, she would reach out to other women in the community and help
them through the same crippling time in their lives.
Valeska's husband James saw the enormous vision his wife had and decided to join
her in taking the jewellery business to the point of realizing her dreams. They
launched VALESKA in the hopes of sharing their dreams of independence, a
fulfilling career and a happy and balanced home life with others just like them.
And their story has been outstanding. VALESKA jewellery has been highlighted in
major magazines such as Vogue Australia, Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan. The
VALESKA Collection was the runner up in the prestigious Jewellery Association of
Australia 2006 National Design Awards earning it industry recognition as
outstanding and innovative.
In an area that differs dramatically from other party plan companies, VALESKA is
very strict about sales being credited to individual VALESKA Stylists to the
point where there are no online sales of any kind nor any sales from catalogues.
All sales come from Showcases that the Stylists host themselves or attend
through other Hostesses.
Products
VALESKA offers two lines of jewellery. The ready-to-wear collection, named
Limited Edition, caters to pieces that are unique and have limited quantities.
In this way, the company can offer new and exciting pieces on a regular basis.
VALESKA's original range of jewellery is the "signature collection" which offers
timeless elegance and luxury. Most of the pieces come in gold, silver and
hematite.This collection is truly unique. Aside from looking fabulous with any
wardrobe, the company applied for a patent for the "Sista Grip" link. This
allows a woman to mix and match her pieces to create the specific effect she
desires. The obvious benefit is even if two women are wearing the same jewellery,
each piece will be unique since each woman will have arranged her piece
differently.
For 2008, the company has announced the introduction of "signature collection
boxes".
Compensation Plan
Monies may be earned by retailing product through Showcases. Normally a twenty-five percent commission is provided. By helping and sponsoring other Stylists, individuals may also earn added commissions two levels deep. Lastly VALESKA offers monthly "indulgence rewards" which might include a day at the spa, a weekend away for two or other fun and relaxing incentives for sales productivity.
Community or Charitable Work
Valeska Dominguez has indicated that one of the reasons she started VALESKA was to help women who suffered from Post Natal Depression. She further said that she would use her own talents to bring awareness to the affliction and also to help women make the difficult transition from career to motherhood. A specific charity or foundation name, however, was not supplied.
